Ukraine, Masks & Announcements

Brothers & Sisters,
The situation in Ukraine has intensified, with the UN estimating over two million refugees fleeing the invasion. This is the largest refugee crisis in Europe since World War Two. May the Lord have mercy and show His power against evil and His love in the suffering.

Please continue to pray and donate to the relief efforts here through our church. All gifts will be sent to the International Missions Board (IMB), the missions agency of the Southern Baptist Churches (SBC), and it's sister organization, SEND Relief, the SBC's crisis relief agency. Your donations will support Baptist pastors, missionaries and churches there ministering to fleeing refugees. (see IMB President Paul Chitwood's short video).

There are many other organizations doing Gospel work to which you might also donate:

  1. Samaritan's Purse, which is deploying a field hospital in Western Ukraine (away from the current conflict).
  2. Pastor Bogdan of Forward Church in Irvine, an OC Southern Baptist church, has sent out a specific request to medical personnel (doctors, nurses, hospital admins) who can donate supplies. He has family members from Ukraine, and they are working with the Ukrainian Consulate and a Ukrainian church in Sacramento to charter a flight from Los Angeles. If you can donate medical supplies, please contact Pastor Bogdan's uncle, Daniel Bondarenko: 949.350.4513, Danikvas@hotmail.com. (his picture is here below:)

COVID-19 and Masks:

Masks are no longer required for children, beginning this Friday, March 11, at AWANA. We have already removed mask mandates for adults.

Official state guidelines, however, still recommend masks, especially for unvaccinated or those with pre-existing conditions. And even if you do not fall into those categories, you may feel more comfortable with a mask on anyway.

Mask or no mask, we rejoice that COVID numbers are falling to the point of no longer requiring them! May God be glorified and this be the beginning of the end of this two-year pandemic.
